One World Club! If you thought the other shows were good, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet! I’m telling you about this one early because if you hear about it afterwards you’ll soon be sick of everyone telling you what a great show you missed. OK, I’ll stop rabbiting and get to the point.
Usual place and time, but I’ll tell you anyway, just in case you’ve forgotten:

Have you ever had the experience where you saw a performer, and you just knew, even before they started that you were witnessing musical genius? So it was when I first saw George Anthony at a fundraiser in Luton earlier this year.
George Anthony: From the way George carried himself, effortlessly blending into the atmosphere and greeting the audience, I knew we were in for something special. I wasn’t disappointed. He had the audience in the palm of his hand, singing songs from the Nat King Cole/Sinatra/Davies Jnr. era, here was someone who performed with style and polish leagues ahead of most of today’s talent. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. George agreed to appear in our June 7th show, a special production as part of the prestigious Stony Live festival. Despite a sizzling show with some of our top local talent, it was largely agreed that George was the icing on the cream on the cake. Till then I hadn’t been a fan of that genre of music, but I’ve been humming "Let There Be Love" ever since. George is a professional performer, and you would normally pay posh money to see him. However, One World Club is free entry, and George returns on August 2nd.
Take a look at George singing "Let There Be Love" at our show in June, at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkwkrns5sj4
MK A Cappella are a stunning group of some thirty plus singers who sing without instruments, using their own voices for accompaniment. Their music, in the style of ‘Barbershop,’ is a shining example of how local people have harnessed their talents and given Milton Keynes yet another performing group to be proud of.
16 year old Lauren Holgate graduated from the gospel church to modern music. She moved the audience to silence with a short ‘open mic’ spot last May, and we’ve been patiently waiting for August to come around when she’s able to offer us a full spot. She fits in perfectly with The One World Club ethos, bringing together performers of different generations, performing music from genres as varied as The Temptations to modern day. Trust me, she’s bowl you over!
Freesteppin, streetdance group: lots of enthusiastic youngsters showing how showbiz can be fun and entertaining at the same time! their energy and excitement brings the atmosphere of any show to a new level!
The Petrou Family. Demetri, Alex and Chrissy Petrou are all accomplished musicians in their own right. Demetri is a seasoned performer of Flamenco and classical guitar, his daughter Alex a gifted clarinet player, while wife Chrissy socks it to you on flute (so don't sit too close! - Ed). If you were at the July show you will have seen Demetri perform on his own, and will be aware of his standard. Now we see the whole family combine their talents as a trio.
Mark Niel/The Mk Theatre of Comedy. If you’ve seen him before you won’t want to know more, you’ll just book the date and keep everything else out! Mark had the audience almost wetting themselves with laughter at our Stony Live Special in June this year. His performance poetry swings from a flatmate whose half of the fridge evolves new life forms to falling in love with the audience! Mark is booked to compere this show and perform with his colleagues from the MK Theatre of Comedy.
That’s enough from me. I didn’t mean to keep you here all day reading this email; I’m just so excited about this show I got carried away! That’s the excitement of show-business, which I want to share with you. Feel the buzz, stay young! There is more info and pictures on our home page.
Meantime I’ll be getting ready. The team will be buzzing to see you, and Amal will, as always, greet you at the door with a smile and a warm welcome.
Best wishes
Andy
