ONE WORLD CLUB IS ONE YEAR OLD! PLEASE COME TO OUR PARTY!

When we launched One World Club in September 2009, we didn’t know whether we would still be here in a year’s time, whether there would be enough interest to make it work. We wanted to do something different, something big, and something that would let ALL the communities in the Milton Keynes area know how special they are to us.

Little did we know just how big this would turn out to be!

Milton Keynes Council threw in their full support, offering us a first rate function hall free of charge, a venue large enough to showcase large dance acts and seat over a hundred people.

A1 Tutors, a local private tuition agency continues to sponsor all additional costs, including free chocolates and crisps at every show. This support has made it possible to offer FREE ENTRANCE to all.

The shows have consistently played to full houses, and in June we were invited to become part of Stony Stratford’s renowned Stony Live festival! There were more punters than places, and people ended up standing in the courtyard looking through the windows!

Why do we do it? Andy Gilbert, show coordinator, says, “When you organise a show where no one is exploiting anybody, you get a very special atmosphere, one of people uniting as one big family coming together to enjoy the evening. Bringing so many people together from diverse backgrounds and feeling the warmth that they bring is an experience which is beyond words.”

So here we are, a year up the road and celebrating. The people of Milton Keynes voted with their feet and gave a resounding thumbs up, so we’re returning the compliment by continuing to do what we do best; more show-business, still free to all!

Be part of the celebration. Join us on September 6th!

Who’s on?

Sue Gray - Sue bowled the audience over with an impromptu unaccompanied song on our opening night, and has appeared twice since with her band. She is simply a singer who takes your breath away.

Sabina Adatia - Sabina is simply the most exciting, and possibly most glamorous Bollywood dancer you’ll ever see. Sabina opened the show on our opening night and we’re knocked out that she’s agreed to come back.

Natasha Silver - another launch-night return act is a young blues and rock singer/guitarist who astounds everyone who sees her. At 19, her guitar playing has been likened to Jimmy Hendrix and Brian May, but her impassioned singing is likened to no one except Natasha Silver! See for yourself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Csg_zv37GE&feature=channel_page

Caroline Martin is a singer of pop and jazz who gives new meaning to the word ‘passion.’ She first visited us in July when she did an impromptu open mic spot. It was obvious to all that we were looking at a professional performer whose natural home is on the stage!

These are just some of the acts booked to appear on September 6th.
